The Beliefs And Concepts Of Spirituality Metaphysics

By Mark West

While some people see the physical world as a single entity, others believe in a secondary spiritual world. In either case, the term spirituality metaphysics is often associated with New Age practitioners and beliefs. As such, a clear explanation or definition of the term is non-existent.

Most often, New Age practitioners are not a part of any organized religion. For, most individuals practicing in this area maintain a pantheist view of the world. Whereas, the metaphysical aspect often refers to the ultimate reality in which all aspects of the world are connected.

Spiritual, or spiritual realm are more familiar terms often used to refer to anything outside the physical reality. The combination of the metaphysical and non-physical would then suggest that life is a spiritual experience. As a result, most individuals whom subscribe to New Age beliefs live life from a spiritual perspective rather than a physical one.

In most cases, individuals involved in New Age practices adhere to the belief that all reality is uniform and that all people are part of the same ultimate truth. A viewpoint from which the All Is One, and One Is All, mindset was born. While philosophical and theological ideologies can be tangled up in these concepts of physical and metaphysical realism and spirituality, the terms still maintain objective boundaries and separate definitions.

When it comes to the metaphysical aspects of the Universe, these concepts can often be difficult to comprehend. It often becomes easier when individuals begin to understand that spiritual metaphysics is the study of human existence outside the physical realm. Whereas, in understanding that the spiritual realm is one in which physical capabilities, senses, research, technology or the physical body does not exist also helps in understanding the difference between these two planes of existence.

Longtime spiritual beliefs and ancient religious practices have attempted though failed to explain the human experience. For, almost all organized religions have arisen based on the belief that the physical and spiritual aspects of the body are separate and apart from one another. As a result, most individuals now recognize these as separate entities within oneself while also seeing oneself as being separate and apart from God, and other human beings in the physical universe.

In seeing oneself and others from this perspective, it becomes more difficult to understand the physical experience it its natural form. Whereas, the life force many refer to as God, a higher power or powers often gets lost in the process. As such, it can then be difficult to grasp an understanding as to the ultimate purpose human kind has on earth.

As researchers and scientists delve even deeper into reality and attempt to explain the truth of human existence, many begin to see the non-physical or spiritual world as reality. For, the line between the physical and spiritual worlds appears to be becoming thinner on an ongoing basis. At which time, it becomes easier to see how all beings are connected in different ways.

Most New Age practitioners also believe that regardless of a belief in God, all things are interconnected. Once this becomes clear, the concepts of separation begin to appear as nothing more than man-made definitions. Whereas, spirituality and metaphysics have brought human kind closer to understanding these connections.
