OCD Blog Strangers In Arms

By Jennie Sandoval

Mental health is important and knowing that you are not alone regardless of what is plaguing you can be a real help. An OCD blog is there for when you are feeling all alone and need information and support from other suffers.

The hardest challenge for anyone is to understand with real empathy the nature of what someone is going through. Some of us just do not have the skills or that emotional awareness because it is not happening to us directly. The best we can often do is have sympathy and so while love is in our hearts, we flounder through the uncertainty.

Without truly opening yourself to experience life through a sufferers eyes you will always be in the dark. It is this that causes one to feel frustrated because they do not know how to help. You can truly do your best by learning all there is to learn and implementing the things that help.

By reading all the stories of other sufferers you will be able to open your eyes to the reality. Accept that you will not be able to truly help them if you do not understand. They may not want it, but you need to make them see the benefits.

There are times when one will find it extremely difficult to cope, and it is during these times that you need to step back. Sure you might think that yelling or threatening the person will make them change, this is just a fallacy. If you feel under great pressure it is best for you to take time out and regain your composure.

The problem is that many sufferers often end up suffering in silence because they feel that 'normal' people simply do not get it. So they tend to lead more reclusive lives as they feel they cannot be part of the world.

Having an obsessive compulsive disorder can make people see you as being weird as they do not understand the reasons why you should be like that. When one is feeling this low, it can make it more difficult for them to maintain relationships with others and so they try to find people of their own ilk.

Even though we are unique individuals, we still like to belong to a group that will accept us for who we are. When you have obsessive compulsive disorder, you feel less like a human being and more like a freak of nature. These kind of thoughts do not help and only aggravate the situation, making you feel more helpless.

Even though you feel the strong pull to just stay away from the world, you should avoid this at all cost. While you might not see it now, there are many people who truly care about you and would do anything they can to help you. Strangers are not so heartless as you might feel.

Even though you think it, know this, you are not a freak and no human being is regardless of who they are. The OCD blog will surely show you this.
