Accepting to become a foster parent means that you are ready to take care of children with an open and loving heart in your home and provide them with all the care and attention you possibly can. Finally you will be handed an application from to fill out which you should return to your foster care agency after you are done filling. The agency will then get in touch with you to commence a study of your home.

Another requirement as the home study continues should be that you take a Model Approach Partnership in Parenting (MAPP) training programme. This is meant to instill good parenting skills in you. You will learn about how to help children adjust in their temporary homes and how to deal with birth parents. Once the home study and the foster parent training are successfully completed, you are now considered a certified foster parent and are fit to commence child foster child care your own home. You can now take up children for care on temporary terms or even adopt a kid.
